Kyotani Leather Works
(Kyoto)
Kyotani Leather Works, run by Genta Kyotani, uses bridle leather, a material that is strong and heavy for users but difficult for makers to handle, to create products using hand sewing and machine sewing.
The product itself is understated, yet has a strong presence.
The ruggedness of American culture and the careful craftsmanship of Japanese-made products are embodied in leather products that you can love forever.
"I want to use the skills I have acquired not only for myself, but for others."

Genta Kyotani has been fascinated by the natural and mysterious material known as leather ever since he came into contact with a vintage leather jacket at the age of 19 while working part-time at a second-hand clothing store.
He says that the appeal of leather is that "(the original skin) is not made by humans, and the product is not finished once it is made; it changes in different ways depending on the person using it, so it is never finished."
After training at a leather brand based on American culture, he launched his own company, Kyotoni Leather Works, in 2023.
KLW's leather products are based on the motto of "products that are understated but exude a strong presence," which is why they naturally blend in and enhance the various outfits of the adults who own them.
For example, KLW's long wallet has the ruggedness of sturdy bridle leather, but also goes well with a suit.

Kyotani, who takes pride in Made in Japan, personally selects tanned bridle leather and tanned leather in Japan, inspecting them with his own eyes and hands.
He devotes his acquired skills to leather, hoping that those who purchase KLW products will feel such joy that they "want to use them forever, even if it means repairing them."
