365 BACKPACK
Backpacks have become the norm among today’s (Japanese) business professionals.
To be honest, I never quite understood the appeal. But when I asked, the reasons made sense: “I want to keep my hands free for my smartphone,” or “I carry a laptop—it’s heavy.”


If that’s the case, then at least choose one that looks good.
Sunawachi has just the right one.
Crafted by Kobe-based shoemaker Keita Morita, this backpack is defined by what may be its most important feature: its size. Measuring 30 cm wide × 38 cm high × 10 cm deep, it comfortably accommodates documents and a laptop. When you’re carrying more, the gusset can be expanded with snap buttons for extra capacity.


The leather used is “Alaska,” produced by La Perla Azzurra in Italy. 
It features a bold, wax-finished surface. 
As you use it, the wax gradually wears off or absorbs into the leather, allowing the underlying black to emerge. The way it evolves will differ from person to person—enjoy the process of making it truly your own.
 Please note: Because each piece of Alaska leather varies significantly, some may appear quite black from the beginning.


One of the highlights of the 365 BACKPACK is the scoop pocket on the back panel. Backpacks can be inconvenient when you have to remove them from your shoulders every time you need something. 


This pocket is designed to minimize that hassle—shaped to prevent items from falling out while keeping them easy to access. Inspired by the pocket of a pair of jeans, it can also be made in a reversed orientation for left-handed users (please specify if desired).


The side zipper, which provides access to the interior, is fitted with a long leather pull tab—easy to grasp and a subtle visual accent.
Its balanced expression makes it suitable for anyone—men or women, weekdays or weekends.
