Boker, a global German knife brand, has reinterpreted and improved the Japanese Higonokami knife to create this pocket knife, truly taking it a step further.

This model uses a brass flat handle and has a slightly different mechanism than the stainless steel model .
It does not have a chikiri (tail, the part where you raise the blade with your thumb), so you use both hands to extend the blade, but it has a spring called a slip joint inside that applies tension to the blade (the Higonokami has a simple structure, so if you press on the back of the blade it will easily fall over).

Since it is not "fixed" (locked), it does not provide a sense of security, but the fact that children can learn to use it carefully, opening it firmly with both hands and closing it slowly, makes it a good first knife for children.

The stainless steel blade is made of 440C, which is hard and has excellent cutting ability.

It can be used for sharpening pencils, making feather sticks while camping, and for a variety of other crafts.
